Startup Pitch Deck | XeCon 2026

Startup Pitch Deck Applicant Guidelines

This isn't an open mic. Only a small number of applicants are selected to present live, and every one of them is chosen because our evaluation panel believes they're genuinely ready for investor conversations. If you're building something real and looking for capital to scale it, we want to hear from you.

01 · Eligibility

Who should apply

We're looking for businesses that have already found their footing — not ideas on a slide.

  • You have a registered business entity
  • You have live revenue or cash flow already coming in — not just projections
  • You have a core team of at least two founders
  • Your funding ask is clear, and you know what you'll do with the capital

If you're still at the idea or concept stage without revenue, this particular track isn't the right fit yet — but keep building, and watch for future Xecon programs.

02 · Tracks

Two tracks, so you're judged on the right terms

When you apply, you'll be placed in one of two categories based on where your business stands:

Early-Revenue Track

01

For businesses with initial traction — you've made your first sales, you have paying customers, and you're proving the model works.

Growth-Stage Track

02

For more established businesses with a track record — consistent revenue, a full financial history, and a clear growth plan that capital will accelerate.

Each track is evaluated on its own terms, so an early-revenue business is never compared unfairly against a mature one.

03 · Prepare

What you'll need to prepare

Have these ready before you start your application — it'll make the process faster:

Company details
Registration info, sector, and team overview.
Your numbers
Current revenue/MRR, your funding ask, and how you'll use it.
A pitch deck
We provide a guideline to help you tell your story clearly; using it also helps our evaluators compare applications fairly.
A 2-minute pitch video
A short, honest video of you explaining your business in your own words.
Financial documents
Bank statements or invoices if you're in the Early-Revenue track; full P&L, balance sheet, and cap table if you're in the Growth-Stage track.
Compliance documents
Your incorporation certificate and GST/PAN.
Funding history
Details of any prior funding raised and your current valuation expectations, if applicable.

05 · Evaluation

How applications are evaluated.

Every application is reviewed independently by at least two members of our evaluation panel — a mix of Xecon's core team, chartered accountants, and experienced entrepreneurs and investors. We look at:

01

Traction & revenue

Is the business already working in the market?

02

Team

Can this team execute on the plan?

03

Market opportunity

How big is the opportunity, really?

04

Business model

Does the model hold up?

05

Use of funds

Is there a clear, credible plan for the capital?

06

Sector relevance

How well does this fit the priorities of the summit?

Applicants who score well may be invited to a short follow-up conversation before final selections are made.

06 · Deck Framework

Pitch Deck Content Framework (Early Revenue & Growth Stage)

For companies generating revenue, the pitch deck must pivot heavily toward proof of concept, retention, and scalability. Recommend that applicants structure their maximum 12 slides around these core areas:

  1. 1

Slide 1: Title & Executive Summary

Company name, logo, high-impact one-liner, and current operational stage (e.g., Early Revenue / Growth).

  2. 2

Slide 2: The Core Problem & Current Pain

Briefly state the market friction they identified and why existing solutions fall short.

  3. 3

Slide 3: Product / Service & Current Offerings

What are you selling right now? Include actual product screenshots, live platform views, or photos of the offering in the market.

  4. 4

Slide 4: Traction & Operational Milestones (Crucial)

This is the heavy hitter for this category. Show:

    • Current Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) or Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
    • Customer acquisition growth rate (Month-over-Month or Year-over-Year).
    • Key enterprise clients, active users or transaction volume.
  5. 5

Slide 5: Unit Economics & Financial Health

Show that the business model works at a micro-level. Include:

    • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC).
    • Lifetime Value (LTV) or Gross Margins.
    • Burn rate and current runway (if applicable for growth stage).
  6. 6

Slide 6: Market Size & Target Expansion

TAM/SAM/SOM, but tailored to your current market penetration and expansion roadmap (e.g., moving from regional to national/international markets).

  7. 7

    Slide 7: Go-to-Market & Sales Strategy

How are you currently acquiring customers cost-effectively, and how will that change as you scale? (e.g., direct sales, digital performance marketing, channel partners).

  8. 8

Slide 8: Competitive Landscape & Moat

Direct and indirect competitors, and why paying customers choose you over alternatives (pricing, tech edge, distribution lock-in).

  9. 9

    Slide 9: The Core Team

Execution capability is paramount at this stage. Highlight operational, technical, and financial leadership expertise.

  10. 10

Slide 10: The Ask, Use of Funds & Growth Roadmap

Exact capital raising target, valuation context (if applicable), and clear milestones the funds will unlock over the next 12–18 months (e.g., scaling sales team, expanding infrastructure).

Note: You are free to customize but do not miss the core points in the framework. But deck must not exceed 12 slides.

07 · Terms

A few things to know.

Applying is free

If you're shortlisted, a ₹5,000 confirmation deposit secures your pitch slot. This deposit is non-refundable, except where Xecon is unable to offer you a confirmed slot after payment has been made.

Your information stays protected

Application details and documents are stored securely and shared only with the evaluation panel and, where relevant, matched investors. A basic confidentiality undertaking is part of your application; if a specific investor wants a deeper look at your business, a fuller non-disclosure agreement can be arranged separately.

Xecon is a facilitator, not an investment advisor

We connect founders and investors; the decision to invest is entirely between you and the investor, and Xecon does not make investment recommendations or guarantees.

08 · FAQ
